Private Educational Psychologist (EP) Psychoeducational Assessments within 7-days
Each assessment represents more than 20 hours of clinical work.
Before meeting your child, the psychologist spends half a day reading everything already on record: school reports, teacher observations, medical letters, any previous assessments.
You then have a consultation with the psychologist to explain what you have seen at home and what concerns you.
Your child is assessed directly over five hours across a series of standardised tests, and every score from every test is worked through and interpreted afterwards.
You will receive a detailed 15-20 page diagnostic report that:
- Specifies the exam accommodations the findings support, such as extra time, rest breaks, a separate venue, calculator or formula sheet use, and modified question formatting, with the reasoning that examination boards require
- Sets out a full cognitive, academic and processing profile, showing where ability, attainment and underlying processing align and where they diverge
- Delivers a formal diagnosis where the evidence supports one, stated to DSM-5-TR criteria with the corresponding ICD-11 code
- Explains the mechanism behind the difficulty, not just its label, identifying which specific factors are producing it, whether working memory, retrieval, processing speed, attention, language, mathematical reasoning or a combination
- Establishes whether difficulties across different subjects share a common underlying cause or arise from separate ones
- Distinguishes genuine difficulty from other contributing factors such as gaps in teaching, English as an additional language, fatigue or anxiety
- Provides classroom recommendations written for teachers, including subject-specific guidance for the courses your child is taking
- Sets out a targeted intervention plan for the areas of weakness identified, with the teaching sequence and materials to use
- Includes study and revision strategies written for your child to use directly
- Identifies what to review at transition to sixth form, university or professional examinations, where demands change
- Is formatted to DSM-5-TR and ICD-11 standards and recognised by international schools, examination boards and universities worldwide
Following the report, you will have a detailed debrief meeting with the psychologist, who will walk you through the findings, explain what they mean in practical terms for your child, and answer any questions you have.
